Hartland is Central Vermont’s best kept secret. With its quietly rolling hills, like the nooks and crannies of an English muffin, it is sandwiched between White River Junction, Woodstock and West Windsor; a rural town offering 62 miles of dirt road yet merely five minutes to I-91 and I-89. That means quick and easy access to shopping, movies, restaurants, theater, schools, two National Parks, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as well as Lebanon Municipal Airport. Originally chartered in 1761 as "Hertford," the town was renamed in 1782 to avoid confusion with neighboring Hartford. Hartland’s character is a blend of grand historic homes, including the David Sumner Mansion; Vermont farms, producing Christmas trees, flowers, honey, maple syrup, vegetables, and grass-fed beef; and the green buildings of Cobb Hill. Outdoor recreation abounds with the Connecticut River to the west, brooks, covered bridges, Sumner’s Falls, and the North Hartland Dam.

Woodstock, Vermont is the quintessential New England historic town. Hanover offers an incredible mix of activities from access to the White and Green Mountains to its arts and culture community not to mention the obvious intellectual benefits found in a college town.

Quechee is the site of Quechee Gorge on the Ottauquechee River and is also the home to the Quechee Lakes planned community initiated in the late 1960s, which brought to the community the small Quechee Lakes Ski Area in the 1970s. The ski area has 13 trails and 3 lifts. Perched atop the falls of the Ottauquechee River, overlooking a covered bridge, Simon Pearce offers glassblowing demonstrations, a renowned restaurant, and new bar. In addition to the restaurant at Simon Pearce, The Parker House is another great option for dining.
